Racing

  • Training Length: 6 Hours per Week
  • Suggest Ratio: 7:1
  • Date: Program starts Jan 7th, 2023 and runs for 8 weeks
  • Required Age: Born 2013-2014

This entry level race program focuses on further development of overall skiing skills and a thorough introduction of race skills on a variety of terrain and learning environments. This program follows the Long Term Athlete Development plan along with the Snow Stars program.

Skiers entering the U10 program must be one of the following:

  • Be an exceptional recreational skier that can independently ski all runs at Chicopee, confidently uses all lifts at Chicopee unassisted, and is comfortable with some speed on a variety of terrain and snow conditions.
  • Have successfully completed Intermediate 3 (I3) level in a Chicopee Snow School program.
  • Graduates of the U8 program.

Per Alpine Ontario regulations, program participants must be a Chicopee Member for the applicable race season and are required to wear a hard eared helmet. U10 athletes that wish to participate in any Alpine Ontario (AOA) sanctioned events must register through AOA.

  • Dryland Training: (Sundays) Sep 25 to Nov 20, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Please Note: There will be no Dryland Training on Sunday Oct 9, 2022 (Thanksgiving Weekend)
  • Friday Night Gates: Jan 13 to Mar 3, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Club Championships: Mar 4, 2023
  • Race Social: Mar 28, 2023 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm

  • Tremblant Family Camp: Dec 11 to Dec 17, 2022
  • Blue Mountain Mondays: Jan 16, Jan 23, Jan 30, Feb 6, Feb 13, Feb 27, 2023 from 9:00am to 3:00pm
  • Chicopee Slalom Camp: Jan 4 to Jan 6, 2023 from 9:00am to 1:00pm
